God’s Provision

I really underestimate God.  This week He has given me two simply wonderful gifts absolutely out of the blue.  These weren’t things I asked for.  They were things I figured I was giving up along when I chose to live this way but He is so good.  He just gave them to me!

Last week a lady we’d never talked to walked up to Mike and asked him if he knew someone who needed a harp.  She had a friend who wanted to give one away.  We were absolutely floored.  I am a harpist.  A very out of practice harpist who misses playing (I rent mine out back home).  A very cynical, out of practice harpist who wrote on her worship team application under what instruments would you be willing to play, “Fat chance.  Unless you know someone who wants to just give me a harp.”  When I mentioned what I wrote on the application to the ladies they were astonished.  They didn’t know about it.  She just “got her sister’s harp” (I assume inherited but I’m not sure) and was wondering if my music teacher husband knew of someone who would use it.  It is far from the biggest or best quality harp but I am so thankful for it.  I’ve really missed playing!

Then on Sunday we walked into church and there were Christmas trees with a sign labeling them FREE.  We love Christmas trees but we’re on such a tight budget Kai and I finger painted a paper one for our bedroom wall.  Now we have a real one to share with the other families living here.  The boys had such fun decorating it and it’s the first Christmas tree that the Brazillian couple has ever had so we’re all happy!  Thank you God for the person who felt they should bring Christmas trees to church in case someone needed one and thank you for taking such good care of us!
