Crazy week!

Remember that school schedule?  The first week of our new school year and I already have to deviate from it.  What did I say about well-intentioned schedules? lol

Monday went well, the timing was perfect, we accomplished it all.  Yesterday was a bit off but mostly because the ice cream truck came during ds7’s Language Arts lesson.  I gave him a break to have his treat and then realized that it was time for me to head to the store to shop for his birthday.  His science, math and social studies remained undone although I suppose my husband could have supervised it.  I haven’t introduced him to the new way I lesson plan and wasn’t sure he could follow it without first getting an explanation.

Today we’re taking the boys to their fav pizza place as is our birthday tradition for them.  Ds7 turns 8 on Sunday but dh will be working so we have to go today.  That means school has to get done this morning.  The boys are already protesting. I understand completely.  lol

Tomorrow my parents are coming to take ds7 shopping for his birthday and will be here all day.  I can do school with ds5 while they are out but ds7 will likely miss the whole day.

Thank heaven we have no plans for Friday and Saturday. Also, the beauty of a year around school year is that we have time for these sort of interruptions.
